I was stationed aboard this ship from 1979 to 1983 as a missile technician under CDR James Turner on the gold crew. I have been unable to find this patch in its original colors and detail, so I made one. This is an exact replica of the patch I have from 1979 which I bought from the ships store/Rec committee.

The patch is backed with an iron om medium but If the patch is ironed on I still recommend a sewn stitch arount the edge to prevent it from peeling up after several washings. The Polyester thread in the patch is UV Resistant and will not fade in the wash.
